E.ON Kernkraft: Energy has to be safe and reliable

E.ON Kernkraft operates six nuclear power stations in the German states of Bavaria, Lower Saxony, and Schleswig-Holstein.

Our Würgassen facility has been decommissioned and is currently being dismantled. Our Stade facility was decommissioned in 2003.

In 2006, E.ON Kernkraft's generation assets achieved an availability factor of over 90 percent. Our power stations are regularly ranked among the most productive of the world's 440 or so nuclear generating facilities in terms of annual output. In 2006, our Isar 2, Brokdorf and Grohnde facilities came in at places 1, 2, and 5 respectively.

The reasons for this are obvious: we work to extremely high safety standards, our plants are maintained with meticulous care, and our employees are highly motivated and exceptionally well qualified.

At E.ON Energie we're committed to producing nuclear energy in a way that protects people and the environment.

Our technologically advanced generation fleet is integral to our ability to honor this commitment. E.ON Kernkraft utilizes the latest technologies and scientific developments. Our facilities meet strict environmental and operational safety standards, and our temporary storage facilities fully comply with Germany's stringent regulations.
